Presser Reunion Christmas in July 2009
Spend Christmas with your extended Presser family this year! Please join us July 10th and 11th for the Presser Reunion at the Turtle Lake Legion Hall. This year our celebration is the same time as Turtle Days,so plans are subject to change to give people a chance to enjoy the town celebration too. The city is still working on their events. Tentative plans are as follows:
Anyone wishing to bring an item for the drawings- we would appreciated it. If anyone has recipes they would like to share to add to the Presser cookbooks we have, please send them to us.
Friday - July 10th: Registration begins at 10:00 am. Dinner is on your own and we will do some visiting and maybe sing some Christmas carols. A get acquainted time with prizes. At 3:30, we will leave for the St. Johns Cemetery. The cemetery is 101 years old this year and we will do a short memorial service. When we return we will have an evening meal prepared by the Presser Family Reunion Committee. Plans are for a hay ride and to decorate the trailer for the float in the parade the next day. We welcome you to ride in the Turtle Days Parade.
Saturday - July 11th: A continental breakfast will be served 7:00 to 8:30 am. The parade starts at 10:00, so stop early for the line up time. Noon lunch is on your own- there are vendors in town. Soap box derby races are held by the Legion. Turtle races are in the afternoons well as egg toss and other entertainment. At 3:30 we plan on a short program and a 6:00 banquet. If all is according to plan the menu is for: turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner roll, salad and a dessert. From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. we plan on musical entertainment. There will also be a street dance in the evening. The name of the Band is October Road. There is a charge for this. We will do the drawings in the evening.
Sunday – July 12th: Trinity Lutheran Church services are held at 9:30 a.m. or you may choose the church of your choice. St. John’s is a part of Trinity, so following services, we will be serving a cake in honor of St. John’s Cemetery 101 years. If you choose to stay, the Lions Club sponsors a chicken and steak BBQ at the park. price unknown at this time. According to the local newspaper there is a plan to have a challenge basketball game with our State Class B third place winners and the past four decade of other basketball players who have graduated or played for Turtle Lake / Mercer.
For those of you that have a computer you may check the web site for turtlelakend.org and link to turtle day events. As the plans progress you will be able to see the events that are scheduled. We will have information for you at the Legion.
Prices: $10.00 per day for adults. $5.00 per day for ages 6 – 17. Under 6 are free.
Friday meal is $4.00 per plate. Under 6 free.
Saturday night meal is $7.50 per plate. Under 6 free.
No family needs to pay over $50. to attend.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS : JUNE 26, 2009. This is so we may notify the caterer. Also a reminder to make your reservations- The town celebration sometimes brings people from other towns and states for school class reunions and the turtle races.
If there is an interest and we have some people interesting in singing for the church service on Sunday, I’m sure Pastor won’t mind.
